The Provision of School Places

Remit

To look at the provision of school places, in particular the level of unfilled places with a view to:

1. establishing the optimum level of unfilled places, allowing for flexibility;
2. determining the costs of retaining levels of surplus places in excess of this; and
3. identifying the action local authorities need to take to effectively manage their stocks of school places.
