National Assembly for Wales

South East Wales Regional Committee (July 2003 - March 2005)

The National Assembly for Wales established four regional committees in 1999. The South East Wales Regional Committee covered Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan.

The role of the regional committee was to advise the Assembly on:

  • the effect of Assembly policies in the region; and
  • the work of public bodies in the region.

The National Assembly's Standing Order 10 provides full details of the Committee's remit.
