The likely impact of the current recession and the tightening of public finances on: financial incentives, business support and grant aid; and on investment in larger projects, such as renewable energy, new development projects and waste management initiatives;
¡Business attitudes to investing in low carbon initiatives;
Opportunities for the innovation and manufacture of non carbon-based technologies in Wales, and the associated role of the Higher Education sector.
¡The advice and support measures needed to improve energy efficiency in Wales (for example in housing, business and the public sector), and the associated skills requirements and potential economic benefits.
Impact of consumer attitudes on popularity of green products/ technologies;
¡The way in which the economic benefits of expected major environmental capital investment projects could be maximised in Wales.
¡Extent and success of procurement initiatives;
¡Effectiveness of green jobs strategy in Scotland;
EU agenda and the future of the Lisbon strategy for job and growth.
