Policy Review: Economic Inactivity

Terms of reference

To consider:

  1. the high levels of economic inactivity in Wales and the factors underlying them;
  2. the policies to raise economic activity levels being pursued by the Welsh Assembly Government and other agencies;
    and to make recommendations for the development of policy in this area.

The Committee will consult widely with relevant organisations and individuals. Anybody with an interest in this review is welcome to submit his or her views to the Committee at economic.comm@wales.gsi.gov.uk. As well as a written consultation, the Committee will be inviting organisations and individuals to submit their views in person; to enable more detailed questioning and discussion of the issues raised.

Final Report

The Committee published their report on 12 April 2005. The Policy Review will be debated in plenary on 19 April 2005.
