Children and Young People Committee

The remit of the Children and Young People Committee is to ‘consider and report on issues affecting children and young people in Wales. In particular, the Committee may, within its remit examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Welsh Assembly Government and associated public bodies and consider reports of the Children's Commissioner for Wales.’

The Committee was established on 16 October 2007 when the Motion to establish the committee was agreed in plenary. It will exist for the duration of the third Assembly.

The Children and Young People Committee is undertaking an inquiry into Parenting Action Plans and is calling for those with an interest or expertise in this area to submit written evidence.
