SO25: Special Assembly Procedure Committee

SAP Committee on the draft A40 Penblewin Order

The Committee has been established under the Special Assembly Procedure as set out in Standing Order 25 (SO25).

Its remit is:

(i) to consider the petition of Pembrokeshire County Council and Mr.K.Jones received by the Presiding Officer against the draft Order - The London to Fishguard Trunk Road (A40) (Penblewin to Slebech Park Improvement) Order 200-

(ii)  to report to the Assembly with a recommendation that the draft Order should either be made (without amendment) or not be made, in accordance with Standing Order 25.21.

The Committee shall cease to exist when it has reported.

The draft Order which was laid by the Assembly Government on 7 May 2008 is the first to be subject to Special Assembly Procedure.  Further information about Special Assembly Procedure Orders can be found on Subordinate Legislation Web page.

The Presiding Officer has issued guidance to Assembly Members on the proper conduct of proceedings in relation to Special Assembly Procedure Committees.
