About the proposed Measure

The primary purpose of the proposed Measure is a holistic, comprehensive, made-in-Wales policy on nutrition which ensures that healthy eating is promoted and supported for all registered pupils of schools maintained by local education authorities in Wales.

Pre Introductory Stage

Before Introduction to the Assembly, Jenny Randerson AM undertook consultation on the draft proposed Measure.

Current Stage

Proposed Measure and Explanatory Memorandum

Stage 1

Consideration and agreement of the general principles of the Measure.

The Committee has issued a call for evidence seeking views from all interested parties on the Proposed Healthy Eating in Schools (Wales) Measure. The Committee is also interested in hearing the views of school pupils and a questionnaire has been prepared which is available in hard copy; please contact the Legislation Office with your requests.

Stage 2

Detailed consideration of the Measure and any amendments tabled by a committee of Assembly Members.
