Response to the consultation on the Proposed Playing Fields (Community Involvement in Disposal Decisions) (Wales) Measure

Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council

With reference to the recent request for comments in relation to the above Blaenau Gwent would comment as follows;

a. Blaenau Gwent totally agrees with the attached response from the WLGA

b. On a local perspective Blaenau Gwent would find it very difficult to dispose of playing fiends, due mainly to the topography of the area and the lack of flat open space to develop replacement facilities should the need arise.

c. Blaenau Gwent is at this time finding it very difficult to meet the current National playing Fields Association (NPFA) (now "Fields for Play”) Six Acre Standard across local communities.

d. Blaenau would consult with local organisations on the disposal of any community facility.
