Response to the Consultation on the Proposed Shipment of Waste for Recovery(Community Involvement in Arrangements) (Wales) Measure

Given that the changes proposed to the measure are minimal, we are content for our original response to be considered by Legislation Committee No. 1. A copy of our original response is attached.

Could the committee also be informed of a briefing note on reporting final destinations of municipal waste (available from http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/business/topics/waste/108175.aspx) which we recently published. 

The aim of this guidance is to provide clarity on what information is required to robustly demonstrate that biodegradable municipal waste (BMW) has been diverted from landfill, and that local authorities can satisfy themselves that not only is their waste being diverted from landfill but that it is being recycled and recovered legitimately.
