About the Proposed Measure
A Measure of the National Assembly for Wales to make provision about the entitlement to education of children in the last two years of compulsory schooling and young persons who have not attained the age of nineteen; to make provision by maintained schools and institutions within the further education sector of services related to education; to make provision for the disclosure of curriculum information; and for connected purposes.
Current Stage
The Measure was passed by the Assembly at Stage 4 on 17 March 2009. An explanation of the various stages of Measures can be found in the Guide to Assembly Measures.

Committee - Stage 2
A permanent committee, Legislation Committee No.2, was established on 9 December 2008. It will consider Stage 2 proceedings of the Proposed Learning and Skills (Wales) Measure.
Stage 1
Consideration and agreement of the general principles of the Measure:
The Committee was established on 9 July 2008 to consider and report on the general principles of the Proposed Measure (Stage 1). The Committee shall cease to exist if the proposed Measure is passed, falls or is withdrawn, or a new committee is set up to consider Stage 2 proceedings under Standing Order 23.31(ii).
