Policy Objectives of the Proposed Measure

A Measure to create a new duty to issue statutory guidance to local authorities to support the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan for Autistic Spectrum Disorders (2008) and the recommendations of the Task and Finish group on support for adults with autism

This Measure would impose a new duty on the relevant minister to back up the Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Strategic Action Plan for Wales, including the recommendations of the task and finish group established by Edwina Hart to identify action needed to improve support for adults with autism, with statutory guidance for local authorities.
