The proposed Order would make provision for the celebration of St David’s Day as the national holiday of Wales.

Policy Objectives of the Proposed Order

The purpose of the Order is to allow for the celebration of St David’s Day as a national holiday.  The effect of the proposed Order will promote greater public awareness of Wales' rich cultural heritage both within Wales and on a global stage.

St David’s Day unites all the peoples of Wales in a celebration of a shared national identity and national pride.
