Outline of proposed Order

The proposed Order would allow the National Assembly for Wales to legislate about and in connection with regulations governing the use of public service vehicles, their construction and equipment and conditions under which they may be used, in relation the transportation of children to and from a place of education.

Policy Objectives of the Proposed Order

The purpose of the Order is to allow the National Assembly for Wales to legislate about and in connection with regulations governing the use of public service vehicles, their construction and equipment and conditions under which they may be used, in relation to the transportation of children to and from a place of education.  In particular, the Order would allow the National Assembly for Wales to pass a Measure to ensure the safety of school transport, ensure the provision of seatbelts on school transport and end the “3 for 2” concession.
