Consultation – Proposals For Healthy Eating In Schools Measure

Brynhyfred Junior School

Responses to Consultation Questions.

1. Proposed measures would encourage schools to take a whole school approach to healthy eating. There is a need to allow schools to take their own initiative in some aspects of this subject.

2. There is a need for regulations to be clear and publicised early so schools and families are aware of the planned Regulations.

3. If too many powers are added to the measure then it would become dictatorial not allowing for flexibility on behalf of the schools.

4. The principles of sustainable development are promoted within the measures.

5. The proposals are necessary in order for evidence to be collated on schools. The requirements will go some way to ensure progress and will encourage schools to focus in on healthy eating.

6. The responsibilities are sufficient for monitoring healthy eating within schools.

7. At present unaware of what financial costs will be implemented by schools.
