To extend the legislative competence of the National Assembly for Wales to make new laws for Wales by Measure in relation to the Welsh Red Meat Industry.

Latest News

Following agreement by the National Assembly and both Houses of Parliament of the text of the Draft Order, the Order was made by Her Majesty in Council on 8 July 2009. The Assembly is now able to make Measures (laws) under the Matters listed in the Order.

The Proposed Welsh Red Meat Industry LCO Committee consulted on the proposed National Assembly for Wales (Legislative Competence) (Agriculture and Rural Development) Order 2008 (relating to the Welsh Red Meat Industry), which will give the National Assembly the right to legislate in relation to the Welsh Red Meat Industry.
