About the Order

The proposed Order aims to extend the legislative competence of the National Assembly for Wales to make new laws for Wales by Measure in relation to the storage and use of the body of a deceased adult, and the removal, storage and use of any relevant material of which such a body contains for the purposes of transplantation to a human body.

Latest News

Following the ‘yes’ vote in the Referendum on further powers, the Minister informed the Assembly of the Welsh Government’s intention to withdraw the proposed order on 9 March 2011, since legislative competence will now rest with the Assembly when Part 4 of the Government of Wales Act comes into force in May .
