To extend the legislative competence of the National Assembly for Wales to make new laws for Wales by Measure in relation to vulnerable children and child poverty.

Following agreement by the National Assembly and both Houses of Parliament of the text of the Draft Order, the Order was made by Her Majesty in Council on 10/12/08. The Assembly is now able to make Measures (laws) under the Matters listed in the Order.

Consideration by a Legislation Committee

The Proposed Vulnerable Children LCO Committee was established on 4 July 2007 to consider and report on the proposed National Assembly for Wales (Legislative Competence) (No.3) Order 2007. The Committee shall cease to exist once the related draft Order has been introduced, under Standing Order 22.31.
