About the Proposed Measure

The proposed Measure will provide for the introduction of a new regime for charging which will ensure that local authorities across Wales adopt a more consistent approach to charging service users for non-residential social care services. It is primarily enabling in scope.  It will allow Welsh Ministers to set out, in subordinate legislation and in guidance, the detail of a fairer and more consistent charging framework for local authorities to adopt.

Latest News

Following agreement by the National Assembly of the text of the proposed Measure, it received Royal Approval on 17 March 2010. The proposed Measure is now a Measure of the National Assembly (a Welsh law).
