About the Proposed Measure

A Measure to make provision to reduce the amount of waste and litter in Wales and contribute to the development of more effective waste management arrangements in Wales.

Current Stage

Following agreement by the National Assembly of the text of the proposed Measure, it received Royal Approval on 15 December 2010. The proposed Measure is now a Measure of the National Assembly (a Welsh law).

The Committee issued a call for evidence on the Proposed Waste (Wales) Measure, which closed on 23 April 2010:

Legislation Committee No. 4 reported on the general principles of the proposed Measure on 25 June 2010.

Plenary Stage 1 Debate
The Assembly agreed to the general principles of the Measure after the Stage 1 debate in Plenary on 6 July 2010. The Financial Resolution was agreed by the Assembly on 6 July 2010.
