P-03-264 - Help stop the alarming loss of wildlife and habitats

Petition Received: 4 November 2009

Lead Petitioner: RSPB Cymru

Number of petitioners: 541

Petition wording:

We the undersigned, care deeply about wildlife and the natural world we are creating for our children and future generations. The target to halt the loss of biodiversity by 2010 will be missed - we are still losing our wildlife. We believe that the Welsh Assembly Government must act now to stop biodiversity loss and take proactive measures to restore important habitats and priority species.

We call on the National Assembly for Wales to conduct a full inquiry to find out why the target will be missed and make clear recommendations to the Welsh Assembly Government on what actions are need to urgently restore our lost biodiversity
