P-03-088 Rural Bus Services, Taliesin

Petition Received: 13 November 2007

Lead Petitioner: Ms P C Henderson

Number of Petitioners: 27

Petition Wording:

To the petitions Clerk, The National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff

We the undersigned, are concerned about climate change and are keen to reduce our carbon emissions. Unfortunately the bus services connecting our village (Tre Taliesin) to our local towns Aberystwyth and Machynlleth are infrequent and expensive and make commuting by car virtually obligatory.

We urge the National Assembly to invest more in regular, affordable bus services in rural Wales, as we be1ieve the lack of an integrated public transport system is one of the greatest hindrances to the development of s sustainable society in Wales.
