Biography

Kirsty Williams was elected to the Assembly in May 1999. She is the only Assembly Member to have increased her share of the vote in each election. Kirsty became the leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats in December 2008 and is the first female leader of any of the four main Welsh political parties. She has chaired both the Health and Social Services and Standards of Conduct Committees. Currently she is a member of the Finance Committee and Legislation Committee No. 4.
