Kirsty has represented Brecon and Radnor since the Assembly was established in 1999. Prior to that she was a member of the National Assembly Advisory Group.

At the Assembly she has chaired both the Health and Social Services and Standards of Conduct Committee. She was elected leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats in December 2008.

Kirsty lives with her husband and 3 young daughters on the family farm near Brecon.
