Biography

Karen was born and brought up in Wrexham, North Wales and has lived in Llangollen for more than twenty years. She is married to Mike and they have two grown-up children, Helen and Thomas.

Previously, Karen has worked in the Youth service for fourteen years andmanaged a house for people with learning disabilities for Wrexham Social Services. She is also a former trained Citizens Advice Bureau adviser.

Karen was a member of the former Glyndwr District council for seven years preceding the local Government reorganisation and also served on Denbighshire County Council. She was also a school governor at Ysgol Dinas Bran, chair of the Youth Club Committee and is actively involved in the local community.

She chairs the URBAN II West Wrexham regeneration project monitoring committee and is a member of UNISON.
