Biography

Gareth Jones returned to the Third Assembly as Member for the new seat of Aberconwy in 2007, having been the Member for Conwy in the First Assembly from 1999 to 2003. During his career he has held several posts; he was spokesman and Shadow Minister for Education, and Chair of the Education Committee. Gareth is currently the Chair of the Assembly's Enterprise and Learning Committee and also sits on Legislation Committee No.2. A former Head teacher and Education Consultant, Gareth's political interests include education, social justice and the Welsh Language. In his spare time he enjoys golf.
