National Assembly for Wales

Video Biography – Text Version | Chris Franks AM

Hello, I'm Chris Franks, newly elected Assembly Member for Plaid Cymru South Wales Central. I represent a very diverse region of 600,000 people stretching from the foothills of the Brecon Beacons to Sully Island. This covers former mining communities, the Capital city and productive farmland in the Vale of Glamorgan. I was born in Cardiff and worked in the Highways and Transportant department of Cardiff County Council. As a county Councillor on the Vale of Glamorgan Council I have experience of Education issues and have served as Chair of the Lifelong Learning Scrutiny committee. I have also been a member of a Local Health Board. During my term I want to make the Assembly more relevant to the public and be responsive to the people of Wales. I am looking forward to the challenge of the next 4 years.
