Hello my name is David Melding and I’m one of the Conservative Assembly Members of South Wales Central. I am currently the Conservative Party spokesman on Economic Development. I was first elected in 1999 and I specialised in Health and became chairman of the Health Committee. I’ve also serviced on the Local Government Committee. Before I was elected I worked in the voluntary sector and my last job was manager of Carers Wales. I found the voluntary sector very useful as I came into contact with so many members of the public. If you are visiting the Assembly today I hope you’ll enjoy your time here, it is very important for Assembly Members to see as many members of the public as possible so that we can hear your views directly.
